Sorry, just have to have a little rant! We are getting married next year in scotland and just having a small wedding( 50 close friends and family). Or at least that was our plan. Have heard back from members of df family saying they can't wait for the big day!!! Apparently his mum and sister have been telling everyone about it and taking it upon themselves to invite them, grrrrr. We had also decided that we would only invite the adults(tight budget) but guess what, yeah, people have also been told "of course it won't be a problem to bring the kids".

What do I do? Is it rude to now go and tell these people that they're actually not invited? The whole reason for us going away and getting married was because we just couldn't afford to invite everybody. I don't really get on with members of his family anyway so know this will be all blamed on me. I also don't want to cause friction for df and his family

Any advice would be appreciated,thanks

Chris

Message: OMG Chris I am livid for you love. My honest advice??? MIL and SIL mut go back and uninvite these people - tell them it was NOT heir lace to do so and you have a limited budget and that actually YOU would prefer to do the inviting yourself. This is so unacceptable chick and i feel for you so much. Get your df to talk to his mother and put her straight - that way it won't come back to you but you need to be united on it
much love

Hi,

Thanks a mill for your reply, I guess I just needed some reassurance that I wasn't being completely selfish. Have had a good heart-to-heart with df and he agrees that he will talk to his mum and try and sort this mess out before it really gets out of hand.

Was just really annoyed and upset because the whole point(apart from money!) of going away was to avoid all this stress.

Hope you are keeping ok and things have got a bit better for you

Chris
