Hi everyone!

We are hoping to get married next year or the start of 2011 and we would like to do something different.

I have been trying to find something on the internet but can't seem to find much :(

Neither of us are religious so we don't want a church wedding, and we don't want a hotel wedding and it would only be the two of us.

Found a website with different weddings on (excitingweddings.co.uk) they had allsorts such as getting married on surfboards in Hawaii etc but they never got back to me.

Does anyone have any ideas, or have you had a different wedding yourself that you would recommend?

I would appreciate any comments you may have :)

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the board.

I got married in September in Greece, we had a beautiful beach wedding, we had 40 guests with us but you could easily go alone. I know beach weddings aren't all thy different but a lot if people haven't been to one or hvent known anyone whose had one. We hadn't! Our other option was the ice hotel in Sweden, but getting there for family and friends was really expensive.

Good luck with everything and let us know what you decide!

Xx

Hi Sarah

we're having a humanist ceremony as they are legal in scotland.

if you fancy having a wedding in scotland check out the humanist society for scotland website.

we had a naming ceremony for our son done by the same celebrant who will be marrying us and it is so lovely and personal and we write the cermony with him and it is all about us, our family and our story
