Well we have finally tide the knot. I cant believe its come and gone so quickly. Here's my report :-)
Woke up at 7 am the morning of my wedding day to nice dry weather. Had been worrying as the day before was cloudy and rainy. My sister had stayed with me the night before as HTB was staying at his mums. I opened my pressie from HTB which was a gorgeous silver bracelet and a card which read Today Im the luckiest man in the world because I¡¦m marrying you. I love you and will see you later.... So I was already a blubbering wreck ƒº Got the kids up and tried to clean round a bit. Hairdresser arrived at 9.30am and set all her things up. By this time I was stressing out as I had put the bracelet down somewhere and couldn¡¦t find it. I eventually found it in my sons bed where I must have put it down when I was making it lol My bridesmaid arrived at 10am to have her hair done and we all had a glass of champagne then my sister who was bridesmaid had her hair done. At this point I had a message from my Dads girlfriend to say that she was coming to the wedding after all. She had rang me the day before to say that she wouldn¡¦t be coming to the wedding as there had been a bit of a fall out with my Dad and sister so we¡¦d had to change the table plan and everything then she lands that on me the morning of my wedding! Arghhhhh!!! My sister was very calm and rang htb who had to go to the venue to sort it out. He wasn¡¦t pleased but I wasn¡¦t about to let it spoil my day as my sister kept reminding me. At half 11 I had my hair done and then at 12pm the make up lady came along with my friend who had brought our flowers. At this point my sister and eldest daughter were getting my baby ready and my son who¡¦s 9 into his suit. At 1pm the photographer arrived and I couldn¡¦t believe how quickly time was flying by! Was just about to get in my dress when I noticed my little boy had a big orange stain on his head and all over his blonde hair. He¡¦d brushed against the lillys and had the pollen all over his head which I had to scrub with soap several times lol Wasnt funny at the time. I could¡¦ve screamed! Finally got into my dress just as the car arrived and my sister and bridesmaid laced it up together. Had some photos taken before we left then got into the 7 seater Daimler, when I realised I hadn¡¦t put my perfume on that Id bought especially for the day ƒ¼ But never mind... Someone would pick it up for me later. Arrived at the town hall where we were getting married to find everyone waiting which was lovely. The sun was shining and I was so excited. My baby boy had fallen asleep on the way there so he went in his pram. I was then rushed through to a room where we had to go over our notices of marriage to confirm that everything was correct so I had to see H2B which I was quite upset about but there was no other way round it. Then it was time for everyone to sit down. We had an instrumental version of viva la vida by coldplay mixed with love story by Taylor swift. It was then time to walk down the isle so I grabbed hold of my dads arm and my son and 2 daughters aged 7, 9 and 14 walked down before us. My son was carrying the rings on a cushion. Me and my dad then began to walk down followed by my 2 older bridesmaids, my best friend and sister. I had The Bridal March by Jonathan Caine. The registrar then started the ceremony. We had written our own vows which were a secret to each other and the registrar also mentioned my 3 children who Id had in a previous relationship and the birth of our son which was lovely. My H2B¡¦s vows were ¡§I ....... ........ take you ......... to be my wife, the mother of my children, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our marriage and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you, and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad. I promise to always be with you. I give you my hand, my heart and my love for all eternity from this day forward for as long as we both shall live¡¨ I was by this time crying... Then it was my turn. ¡§Today .... in the presence of all our family and friends I take you to be my husband, My best friend and soul mate. With you I have found a new life and on this day I promise to always give you the best of myself, to stay by your side, to be your faithful wife. To comfort you when times are hard, to encourage you to achieve your goals. To laugh with you, to cry with you, to always be open and honest with you and to love and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live¡¨ We then exchanged rings and were declared husband and wife. Yey Then my daughter did a reading I Do Mum and ...., as you say ¡¥I Do¡¦ And promise to love your whole life through Remember that today is just a start: Just a beginning, a pledge from the heart A marriage isn't dresses or aisles or rings Or wedding cakes and invites and all those things It's giving and taking in equal share It's promising that you will always be there When things depress you and get you down When you're feeling sad and he's acting the clown Remember this day, and why you chose to be here Then be glad you¡¦ve got each other, year after year. Then we signed the register and had the songs better together, I wanna grow old with you by Adam Sandler and Mrs Robinson. (quite apt I thought) We exited to I gotta feeling by the black eyed peas. We then had some photos done then me and hubby went to the car where the driver had set up the bar where we had a glass of champers. And made our way to the reception. The tables had been set out just as I wanted and it looked lovely. The speeches were done before the meal. I didn¡¦t want it to be too formal and we gave out all the thank you gifts. The meal was lovely and everyone enjoyed it. At about half 7 we then left for the evening reception where all our evening guests were arriving. I felt a bit overwhelmed and felt guilty that I didn¡¦t have time to talk to friends and family for long. Our first dance was better by Tom Baxter then we cut the cake which was then served with the buffet. My only complaint was that the evening reception hadn¡¦t put the cake where we had wanted. It had been stuck next to the dj and for what we paid for it, we wanted it in full view. The dj also wasn¡¦t very good and didn¡¦t have any modern music which I was upset about but it cant be changed now. At the end of the night hubby whisked me off to a hotel for the night which was lovely. MIL had the kids for overnight for us and the next day we all jetted off to Cyprus for 2 weeks. Have just got back to reality and keep replaying the wedding over in my head. It truly was the best day of my life (next to my children being born that is ) ƒº Maria x
