Message: Hi Folks trying to think of something to generate your interest. I suppose my main change is the fact that I can now see out of my lounge windows after a few years of the double glazing becoming misted up. It was put in in 1970 so I suppose it was a bit overdue a change.I'm cheating a bit re autumn as it was done last week. Its funny isn't it how modern technology doesn't always last as long as the old. There are many single glazed windows that last longer, However they are a might more chilly to live with and need allot more cleaning with condensation.I will leave you with this thread and hope for some interesting contributions

Hi anc

I suppose that once I have return from my holiday in early October I intend to find something to do as a part time casual job.

Having left teaching to look after mom, now that she has gone I have no real desire to go back to teaching, I just don't want to the hassle and stress that the job inevitably entails ( especially in the Behavioural aspects that I was involved in)however I would liketo work on a very casual basis on odd occasions.

My friend does exam invigilating and a local school has a team, so i think i will try to join that. It will occupy me in the depths of winter - but won't interfere with my hols and breaks - best of both worlds I think!

Message: There are so many things I want to finish doing this autumn (studying, tidying up) and start doing (decorate my dining room and transform it from a junk room into somewhere useable).  My main problem is I have so much clutter and I hate to part with things that might sometime be useful!  My house has a lot of storage space (ie cupboards)  but I don' t have a loft or a spare room just to "put" things in so I really need to get rid of things.

Message: Hi Moss, empathise with you re clutter.I have so much clutter but everytime I think of getting rid of some. There is always an excuse to leave it . All the dvds no one ever watches. All the books everyone is going to read one day etc etc. A garage full of things that may be useful including about six old computers.I think we have three artificial christmas trees stored . One in an outhouse which should go to the tip as its not good enough for a charity shop. One a friend gave me and one I bought two years ago which is the one we use at the moment. Well I did go to the tip with all the rubbish out of the garden shed last week.So I suppose is was a start. So what has happened.Ds has started wind surfing again and we now have five different sized sails, two booms, three masts and one large board. Guess where he thinks they are going for the winter. Yes the new garden shed. Its going to be ten foot by eight instead of six by eight. This was to give me extra room for my gardening stuff. No further comment. Then of course there will be the new summer house which is going to be bigger than the last one which was 6x6. the new one is 9 by 7 That is also going to double up as a greenhouse as the old double glazing units are going to be incorporated into it.I intend to store the replacement geranioums in there for the winter owing to what happened to all of last years in the frost. Then i will have to remember to go out and water them so they will probably die of thirst instead of frost. Good luck with your plans . Let us know how it goes
