Message: We have a sony tv and a humax box,hubby now thinks we should have a bluray player to replace the dvd player as he thinks the quality will be even better,but only intends to play our dvd discs on them and not replace them for bluray discs.I dont think the quality will change as what we have now is new.Any thoughts.

It depends I know that you can get some DVD players that will "up-scale" oridinary DVDs to near HD quality, so it may be possible to get a bluray drive that will do the same. 

Otherwise I suspect that most bluray drives will simply play the DVD at the usual quality
